Thanks to /. for this link to World of Ends, an excellent article by Doc Searls and David Weinberger about "what the Internet really is. It's not hard. The Net isn't rocket science. It isn't even 6th grade science fair, when you get right down to it... just remember one simple fact: the Net is a world of ends. You're at one end, and everybody and everything else are at the other ends." Even if you don't read the whole piece, make sure you burn the Internet's three virtues into your mind:

  1. No one owns it.
  2. Everyone can use it.
  3. Anyone can improve it.
...especially the first one! No one owns the Internet. It's not anarchy, it's cooperation, and the greatest social experiment in the history of the world. It can work. Let's make it work. Together.
