To blog or not to blog? That is the question...

(BTW, what's the deal with writers using the archaic "troth" in the place of "truth?" I've seen it at least twice in Entertainment Weekly now. Maybe it's just those crazy kids trying to be retro-hip. But I digress.)

So my HotSheet is now a blog, but I'm trying to figure out how to write to it. It's not quite a diary, or a journal, because I'm always acutely aware that it's publicly available. Anybody in the world can come and read this, including parents, ex-girlfriends, and past, current, and potential future employers. How am I supposed to bare my soul with all these people watching?

The main advantage of a blog is that I can just toss off brief nuggets of random thought as they occur to me, or as I remember them when I get back to a networked computer. I don't have to edit myself as much. But that's the bad news, too: when there was a longer production process, I had more time to consider the good (or harm) my words might do.

I guess I'm still asking: who am I? And how much of myself do I want to reveal to all of you?

Stay tuned.
